Sustainability

We strive to create real, long-lasting impact on our customers, the communities where we operate, and the planet.

In 2019, we co-founded the Climate Pledge and set a commitment to reach net-zero carbon across our entire global operations by 2040. Since that time, we’ve innovated, invested, collaborated and made incredible progress – which continues every day. Learn more about what we've accomplished so far.

Community

We aim to make our customers’ lives better and easier every day, and we apply this innovative spirit within our hometown communities.

We're working side-by-side with community partners to increase access to affordable housing, alleviate hunger, strengthen education, and help those impacted by natural disasters when they occur—in addition to having our employees all around the world volunteer their time, skills and passions to support local nonprofits and charities.

Small Businesses

Selling in Amazon's store fuels growth in local communities. More than 60% of sales in Amazon’s store are from independent sellers - most of which are small- and medium-sized businesses. In the U.S., independent sellers in Amazon’s store employed more than 2 million people.
