Connecting with our customers
Amazon's mission is to be earth's most customer-centric company—and our customer service team is at the forefront of our mission. Whether they're helping customers with on-device tech support through Mayday or fielding our customers—calls, chat instant-messaging or emails, our customer service team is empowered to think like owners and solve problems right the first time.
Amazon.com launched in 1995 from a garage just outside of Seattle. While our approach hasn't changed—we're still guided by customer-obsession, a passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence and long-term thinking—we've grown a lot over the last 20 years, and we now have dozens of offices in more than 30 countries around the world. Here in Europe, we have corporate offices right across the continent.
With more than 1,500 people supporting innovation work in AWS and our three R&D centres based in Edinburgh, Cambridge and London, these are Silicon Valley jobs in the heart of Britain.
More than 500,000 images are captured each year, 132 editing computers help upload images to Amazon’s fashion sites, and the cabling for the photography equipment at the studio could make 12 trips around the equator.
