Amazon Fulfilment
We call our warehouses fulfilment centres because the entire process is fulfilled from start to finish – inventory comes in from manufacturers and is shipped out directly to customers.

How your package gets from Amazon's warehouse to your front door

From cargo lorries to planes, a look at how Amazon is planning the future of delivery.
The well-being of our employees and guests are of paramount importance to us. Due to an abundance of caution and following developments relating to preventive measures taken for health in the region regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the decision to pause all fulfillment center tours in Europe. We look forward to re-opening the program once there is more clarity on the global health situation. Thank you for your understanding.

Our fulfilment centers
More than 250,000 full-time associates innovate every day across Amazon’s network. Fulfilment facilities run multiple shifts per day, and employees perform a number of roles - from leading teams to boxing up orders to ship directly to customers.

At Amazon, we strive for a culture of safety above all other priorities. We ensure associate safety through open dialogue and a two-way feedback system, operational meetings, new hire orientation and on-the-spot training. New process development begins with safety and has safety metrics and audits integrated within each program.

Training, development and ideas for improvement are foundational experiences of working in our fulfilment centres. For some, roles in Amazon’s fulfilment network can be a way to earn money in the short-term, but for others, they can be the starting point to a career.

Local investment
For Amazon Fulfilment, it’s important to us to give back in areas that make real impact and support communities, job creation, education, and training the next generation of innovators for the jobs of the future.

Amazon Fulfilment has long been committed to investing in and giving back to the communities where our employees live and work. We’re proud of the impact of the contributions we’ve made to local communities, compensation to employees, and investment in our fulfilment centres.

Community engagement

We make contributions to the community in many ways – through hundreds of local and national grants made every year across the UK, through thousands of employee volunteer hours, and through the donation of products from our inventory to local non-profits.

Economic impact

Amazon invests heavily in the UK – more than £32bn since 2010. The company will employ 55,000 people across the country by the end of 2021, and estimates show that Amazon’s investments have created nearly £36bn in value-added GDP since 2010.
