Amazon marked this year’s Pride Month with a series of events throughout June. But, in line with festivities taking place in cities across the UK, the celebrations will spill over into July and even August.
Glamazon provides a network for LGBT+ employees across the business. It works all year round to build community, raise awareness and offer resources for LGBT+ colleagues as well as allies. Throughout June, the team has been hosting events across the country to celebrate Pride month.

Proud To Be Me
‘Proud To Be Me’ was the theme for this year’s Pride festivities at Amazon, and underpinned Glamazon’s Pride Party which took place at our London office.
The theme was also the basis for a candid discussion between five Glamazon members who took part in a round-table discussion about what that phrase means to them. The group spoke about their lived experiences as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and as employees of Amazon.
Amazon at Pride Parades throughout the UK
Amazon employees walked at Pride Parades across the country with vibrant and colourful parades in Birmingham, Edinburgh took place in June, while the London event was held on 1st July.
Amazon employees will also take part in events in Bristol, Liverpool and Manchester, with more to come later throughout the summer!
Flying the Flag at Amazon
Pride flags were raised at all of our Amazon Logistics sites to generate awareness and celebrate Pride. The flags were flown throughout the rest of the month of June.
Drag Makeup 101 with Crystal from Drag Race
Amazon employees were treated to a Drag Eye Makeup Masterclass from Crystal - one of the stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Participants were taught how to create bright, bold, colourful drag eye looks with expert advice from one of the best in the business!

Feel Good Club Q&A
Glamazon collaborated with the Mental Health and Wellbeing team to host a live Q&A session with a local Manchester business and community group, ‘Feel Good Club’. Founders and wives, Kiera and Aimie visited the Manchester office to talk about mental health within the LGBTQ+ community, and held a Q&A with our employees. This was a great opportunity for attendees to hear why Kiera and Aimie are proud to be them and how to overcome obstacles regarding mental health.
Charity football match
Glamazon, played LGBT+ inclusive football team, Nottingham Lions FC, to raise over £1600 for Notts LGBT+ Network, a charity that offers support to the local community.
Notts LGBT+ Network is based in central Nottingham, and is run by volunteers. The network, which was established in 1975, creates a safe space for people looking for information and advice relating to LGBTQ+ issues, including sexuality, gender identity, health and emotional wellbeing. They have supported over 80,000 people in the local community and partner with over 100 groups and organisations across Nottingham.
Dan Burton-Peet, Chair of Glamazon in the UK said, “We are delighted to be supporting Notts LGBT+ Network. The work of community organisations is so important, providing support to those who need it. It was great to team up with Nottingham Lions FC and Nottingham Forest FC. Congrats to the Lions and kudos to the Glamazon team, it was a fantastic game!”
The friendly game which resulted in a 3-1 win to the Nottingham Lions was hosted by Premier League team, Nottingham Forest who in collaboration with Eastwood FC sourced a pitch and facilities for the match and hosted a post-match event in the Robin Hood Suite at The City Ground.
And much more…
This year’s major celebrations were supplemented by a number of other events hosted by Glamazon, including a number of virtual workshops designed to empower LGBTQ+ employees to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond; social events in Dublin and Manchester; and ‘fireside chats’ with Glamazon board members where members of the LGBTQ+ community at Amazon could get to know more about their Glamazon board members and hear about the affinity group’s upcoming activities.
