Your home deserves protection whether you're at work, away for the weekend, or simply unable to check your phone. That's why Ring is introducing Guard Response: a service that helps give you peace of mind by taking home security beyond alerts and into action.
Ring Guard Response is an optional subscription service that dispatches a licensed security guard1 to your property, either automatically2 or on demand. It works 24/7 and guards are dispatched as quickly as possible and usually arrive within 30 minutes3.

How Ring Guard Response works

Man wearing hat and glasses is notified by Ring from his phone.
With a Ring Alarm, Guard Response can be set to automatic, on demand, or both. If your Ring Alarm is triggered and you're unable to respond to the alert, a licensed security guard will be dispatched on your behalf. If you spot suspicious activity on your Ring Video Doorbell or Security Camera and want eyes on the ground, you can request a guard directly through the Ring app. Without a Ring Alarm, Guard Response works on demand4.
After receiving a request, a third-party licensed security guard is dispatched. You'll receive real-time tracking, live ETAs, and clear arrival updates through the Ring app. The option to cancel is available through the Ring app any time before the guard is marked as arrived at your property, at no additional cost.

What the guard does onsite

Upon arrival, guards conduct a situational assessment and, if feasible, a full exterior perimeter check of your property. They will inspect entry points such as doors, windows, gates, and side passages for signs of forced entry or damage, and check for anything out of the ordinary, such as open windows, broken locks, or vehicles nearby.
Guards are not authorised to enter any interior property or detain anyone on the premises. If a threat is identified, such as evidence of a break-in, a person behaving suspiciously on the property, or signs of criminal damage, the guard can contact emergency services directly on your behalf, including police, fire services, or ambulance, depending on the situation.
Once the response is concluded, the account holder will receive an event report over email outlining exactly what happened, images taken by the guard, what was observed, and any actions taken.
Guards will not enter your property without your explicit consent.
