Amazon has announced a pay increase for frontline operations employees in the UK, meaning full-time annual salaries will start at a minimum of £31,408, and in some locations, £33,488. This represents a significant investment in Amazon's UK workforce across all full-time, part-time, temporary, and seasonal roles.
The minimum starting pay for frontline operations employees will rise by 5.6%, to £15.10, and by 5.2% to £16.10 per hour, depending on location. The change takes effect from 27 September 2026.
Amazon's minimum starting pay has risen by 80p per hour in the past year, and by 44% since 2022. The rise will benefit tens of thousands of frontline operations employees across the UK.
"Our frontline teams are the backbone of our business, and this pay increase reflects that. Starting salaries now exceed £31,000 a year, and we'll continue investing in our people because they deserve it," said John Boumphrey, Amazon UK Country Manager.

What benefits does Amazon offer in the UK?
In addition to the pay increase, Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package – including, from 1 October, 10% off eligible online groceries and everyday essentials on Amazon.co.uk, uncapped, covering fresh groceries and categories such as cleaning products, nappies and pet food.
Employees also have access to private medical insurance, life insurance, income protection, an employee discount including free Prime membership, and a company pension plan from day one.
The company also provides career development through its Career Choice programme, which funds 100% of skills development through nationally recognised courses, up to £3,000 per year. This support is available regardless of whether the training leads to career advancement at Amazon or elsewhere.
More than 30,000 employees have participated since the programme launched in the UK in 2014, and Amazon announced an £800 million global investment in the programme in June.

This announcement comes after Amazon committed to invest £40 billion in the UK from 2025 to 2027, the largest investment in the company's history outside the U.S.,with more than £15 billion already delivered.
