For customers, this means minimal complications, added convenience, and one more flexible way to pay. For those who need to return items to Amazon, this also means money back in their pocket quickly. As soon as we can verify your return, the refund is deposited back into your bank account within minutes.

When making purchases, customers can:

1. Add Pay by Bank as a payment method and choose their bank
2. Select Pay by Bank during checkout and place their order
3. Authorise the payment using biometric authentication and/or PIN verification through their mobile banking app

All purchases made using Pay by Bank are covered by Amazon's A-to-Z Guarantee, which protects customers if items don’t arrive or don’t match the description, as well as our standard return and refund policies. To add a card to your Amazon account:

  • Select "Payments and transactions”

Instalments by Barclays

Instalments by Barclays lets you spread the cost of purchases over £100 across fixed monthly payments. After adding eligible items to your basket, change the payment method to Instalments by Barclays and click to apply.

Shop with Points

Amazon customers in the UK can pay for their purchases using points earned through eligible credit cards. After you register an eligible rewards program to your account, you can use your Shop with Points balance during checkout.

American Express Membership Rewards points from eligible UK-issued American Express Cards enrolled in the Membership Rewards programme can be used at Amazon.co.uk through Shop with Points. To use your points, simply select your rewards-enabled credit card as a payment method during checkout.

You can manage your Shop with Points accounts and view your available points balance on the Shop with Points page in “Your Account”.

How to set a default payment method

To select a default payment method:

  • In “Your Account,” select “Your Payments” (or “Payments and transactions” on mobile)
  • Select the “Wallet” tab
  • Select the payment method you want to use as your default and click “Edit”
  • Tick the box next to “Set as default payment method”
