Filming is under way in Malta on Danger Money, a new six-part action-comedy series, created by David Crow and Oliver Maltman, coming to Prime Video. The show stars Ray Winstone (The Gentlemen, Sexy Beast) as Alan "Razor" Sharp, a former SAS operative haunted by a botched mission in the 1990s that left his reputation in tatters and his best friend dead.
Alex Kingston (A Discovery of Witches, Doctor Who), Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Resident Evil), Mimi Keene (Sex Education), and Arian Nik (Count Abdulla) have all joined the Danger Money cast, alongside Kara Tointon (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping), Sean Pertwee (Gotham), and Oliver Maltman (Red Eye), who is also a co-creator and co-writer of the series.
The cast on joining Danger Money
"Roxy is a character who keeps you guessing," said Alex Kingston. "She swings from intelligent and professional determination on the surface to emotional complexity beneath. The adventure she finds herself on leads her to a greater, empathetic understanding of the human condition. The scripts balance action, humour and heart brilliantly, and getting to play opposite such an exceptional cast is really exciting."
Arian Nik added: "I'm buzzing to be joining this production. The scripts are hilarious, full of twists, and a lot of heart. Ray and Alex are both legends in their own right and it's an absolute honour to be sharing this journey with them."
What to expect from Danger Money
Decades after the mission that destroyed his life—and still plagued by guilt and desperate to rebuild a relationship with his daughter—Razor is pulled back into the world he left behind when an old friend (Sean Pertwee) resurfaces with a job too good to refuse.
Razor travels to Italy, only for events to spiral. Forced on the run with a motley crew made up of his impulsive ‘nephew’ Jamaal (Arian Nik) and secretive tag-along Roxy (Alex Kingston), he is thrust into a violent conspiracy involving hidden war spoils, corrupt institutions and powerful enemies determined to keep the past buried.
As Razor fights to clear his name and protect those closest to him, he must confront the truth behind the mission that destroyed his life. Because the money isn’t the only thing waiting to be uncovered.
Tointon will star as Maggie, Winstone’s onscreen daughter, Maltman as Maggie’s partner, Gavin, and Mimi Keene will star as the mysterious Ana, while Iain Glen plays a pal from Razor’s younger days.
Danger Money will be available on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. Prime membership costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year.
