Amazon has been investing in the communities in which we operate for many years to provide funding to support small charities that provide local support. Individuals, teams and entire sites actively participate to raise funds for and deliver monetary donations to charities in their local community.

Employees at each Amazon location are able to select the local charities and community organisations to which they wish to donate. Employees are invited to nominate charities, and the local Charity Committee then creates a shortlist of charities which employees vote on each month.

Examples of the charities we have supported include:

Action for Children Stepping Stones - we supported the Swansea-based child and family health centre with funding to continue the running of its services, providing parenting programmes, antenatal support, early year’s education services, such as ‘stay and play’ sessions; speech and language support and family learning.

Weatherfield Academy - we provided books and funding for a trip to London’s Globe Theatre for pupils attending a local special educational needs school in Dunstable.

Inverclyde & District Battalion Boys Brigade - we supported the Greenock based youth club with developing Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills through equipment for outdoor adventures and games.

Please note we only make donations to charities that align with our theme of helping children and young people build their best and brightest futures. Our giving is focused on projects in the local communities around our fulfilment centres, head office and development centres.
