In support of the National Year of Reading 2026, we're making it easier to share the joy of stories with families across the UK. From now until 20 September, for every two children's books purchased from a specially selected range, an additional book will be donated to The Multibank.
Browse thousands of eligible titles from leading UK publishers including Hachette, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, and DK, featuring beloved characters and stories from Horrid Henry and Winnie-the-Pooh to How to Train Your Dragon and the Heartstopper series—spanning every reading stage from early years picture books to young adult titles.

Which books count towards a donation?

Thousands of titles across every reading stage are eligible–from picture books and early years through to middle grade and young adult–curated with UK publishers Hachette, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan and Dorling Kindersley (DK).

How do I know my donation reaches families in need?

Every donated book goes to The Multibank, which distributes it to families in need through its nationwide network of local charities and community partners, alongside the clothing, toiletries, toys and other essentials it already provides.

Why is Amazon focusing on books this time?

This campaign is in support of the National Year of Reading 2026, delivered by the National Literacy Trust, which aims to get more people across the country reading.

The campaign runs from 1 September to 20 September 2026, across the selected range on Amazon.co.uk. Any eligible purchase in that window counts towards a donation.
