Amazon’s annual Prime Day event is back on 13 and 14 October, and we’ll be offering Prime members two days of savings on more than one million deals worldwide. This year, as a way of saying thank you to our members and showing our support for small businesses across the UK, we’re launching a new Prime Day promotion.

When you spend £10 with one of thousands of UK small businesses selling on Amazon from now until 12 October, you’ll get £10 back to spend on Prime Day. Once Prime Day begins, you can use your £10 credit to purchase almost any product in Amazon’s store.

We’ve launched this promotion to help you to explore the diverse range of small businesses selling on Amazon. Some examples include: Sandy Leaf Farm, a purveyor of DIY craft and drinks kits that was started in a parent’s spare room in London; Nudie Snacks in Kilmarnock, which sells plant-based snacks and has switched from delivering to offices to shipping tasty treats to customers across the UK; and Yorkshire-based Wee Woolly Wonderfuls, a business that makes handmade crochet and knitting kits.

Tens of thousands of UK-based small and medium-sized businesses sell their products in Amazon’s stores, and they support more than 85,000 job opportunities in the UK. More than 60% of these businesses export to customers all over the world. We recently launched the Amazon Small Business Accelerator with business support network Enterprise Nation to provide 200,000 small businesses with free training on a variety of topics, including social media marketing, selling online, scaling production and hiring. Businesses across the UK can sign up for free today.

You can find out more about the work we’re doing with small businesses and communities across the UK, including using our logistics capabilities to deliver more than three million COVID-19 testing kits free of charge, and over one million free breakfasts to school children as part of our partnership with charity Magic Breakfast.

We’re grateful to our colleagues working at our fulfilment and sort centres, delivery stations and on the road who have made this possible. Their safety and the wellbeing of all of our teams across the UK continues to be our top priority. If you’re interested in what goes on behind the scenes, you can take a virtual tour to watch our fulfilment centre teams in action as we get ready for Prime Day.

We’re currently hiring in the UK and are this year creating 10,000 new permanent roles and more than 20,000 seasonal roles across the country. You can find out more about these roles here.

Thank you for the kind words received throughout this year in appreciation of the work of our teams across the UK, and for your continued support. We hope you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe.
