The brainchild of 27-year-old illustrator Louise Coutinho, the plant-based chocolate bar combines sweet figs with a salty vegan bacon seasoning and oat milk chocolate for a unique festive treat.\n\nFigs in Blankets was submitted in a competition for the UK’s next chocolatier through a creative initiative by The King’s Trust and Amazon. Young people supported by the Trust were invited to invent unique flavour combinations for the festive season. All entries were judged by experts including celebrity chef, product inventor and Dragon’s Den star Levi Roots and H!P founder James Cadbury (the great- great- great- grandson of John Cadbury).\n\nLouise drew inspiration from the Christmas favourite “pigs in blanket” for her entry. As part of her prize, she participated in the design process for the chocolate bar’s packaging.
