Prime members benefit from free Same-Day Delivery on orders over £20. Launch follows rapid growth in Amazon's Everyday Essentials category, which represents one in three items ordered. *\n\nAmazon today announces that customers in parts of London can now order fresh groceries with their Same-Day Delivery orders, alongside everything else they shop for on Amazon. It marks a significant grocery expansion for Amazon in the UK, with customers able to add fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, bread, eggs and frozen foods to the same basket as millions of items already available – from tea and coffee to household essentials, electronics, fashion, and beauty items.\n\nIt means a customer ordering headphones, a phone charger, nappies, or a children’s book can now add bananas, milk, eggs, chicken and more to a single order – and have it all arrive at their door within hours. It is being made available in parts of Central and East London initially, with plans to expand to additional postcodes and more areas across the country in the coming months.\n\n![Person holding their phone displaying Amazon Now with groceries on a table in the background.](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/8c73ba0/2147483647/strip/true/crop/1688x1125+154+0/resize/300x200!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2Fe0%2F56%2F9cd83eb5489e9d8de163f825be41%2Famazonnow-01-new-version.jpg)\n\n- [Amazon launches 30-minute delivery service in Manchester ](https://www.aboutamazon.co.uk/news/retail/amazon-now)\n\n“We’re focused on making grocery shopping easier and faster for customers, with low prices on millions of items,” said John Boumphrey, UK Country Manager of Amazon. “Customers can now add fresh groceries to their regular Amazon orders in a single basket and have everything delivered the same day. Whether it’s fresh ingredients with a new cookbook, or milk and tea bags with a new kettle, you can place an order in the morning and have it delivered by the time you get home.”\n\n## **Fresh food alongside everything else**\n\n![Amazon groceries and electronic products on a counter top](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/3a6b010/2147483647/strip/true/crop/3000x2000+0+0/resize/767x511!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F7e%2F24%2F5c2f13414b2fa08aed4a3e0231ba%2Fbuck-amazon-grocery-548-edit.jpg)\n\nCustomers can now browse and buy fresh grocery items on Amazon.co.uk and the Amazon app, alongside millions of popular brands and everyday essentials already available for Same-Day Delivery. The Everyday Essentials category, which includes groceries and household items, now represents around one in three items ordered on Amazon.co.uk and is growing nearly twice as fast as other areas of the business.\n\nThe launch builds on Amazon’s continued investment in UK grocery, which includes the launch of Amazon Now earlier this year, increasing Amazon Fresh selection, expanding partnerships with Morrisons, Co-op, Iceland and Gopuff, and growing the number of Whole Foods Market stores.\n\n![An assortment of groceries](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/9895345/2147483647/strip/true/crop/2500x1667+0+0/resize/300x200!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2Fa1%2F58%2F20887d9e4ac8a3319e1285fc0c36%2Fjill1-iceland.jpg)\n\n- [Amazon expands Iceland grocery partnership nationwide](https://www.aboutamazon.co.uk/news/retail/amazon-expands-iceland-grocery-partnership-nationwide)\n\nAdding fresh groceries to Same-Day Delivery is the next step in Amazon’s grocery journey, giving customers another convenient way to shop, depending on what they need and when they need it.\n\n## Investing in the UK\n\n![Amazon groceries on a table](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/ccac742/2147483647/strip/true/crop/3000x2000+0+0/resize/767x511!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F18%2F72%2F17ed660f4ab1b790bb4a9f5abe93%2Fbuck-amazon-grocery-220-edit.jpg)\n\nThe addition of fresh grocery delivery to Amazon's Same-Day network is enabled by continued investment in fulfilment technology and logistics infrastructure that includes placing products closer to customers for faster delivery. It is part of Amazon’s broader commitment to the UK, following last year’s announcement to invest £40 billion in the UK over three years, creating thousands of jobs and driving innovation across its operations.\n\nThis announcement was one of a number of innovations showcased at Amazon's Delivering the Future event in the UK this month.","publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"About Amazon","url":"https://www.aboutamazon.com","sameAs":["https://x.com/amazonnews","https://www.linkedin.com/company/amazon","https://www.instagram.com/amazonnews"],"logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://assets.aboutamazon.com/bd/8f/88e7b0314cc2bd05b9de3155a0fe/amazon-news.svg"},"parentOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Amazon","url":"https://www.amazon.com","sameAs":["https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3884","https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_(company)","https://x.com/Amazon"]}}}
