The UK chapter was launched in May 2018 as part of Global Accessibility Awareness. Since then it has steadily grown its membership offering and has successfully empowered employees by raising awareness, supporting career development, participating in community outreach and improving access for Amazon employees and customers.\n\nRecent AmazonPwD events have included talks about people with disabilities and inclusive design, plus taster lessons on British Sign Language, mental health awareness talks and a hackathon for British Heart Foundation which included CPR lessons for attendees and other staff.\n\nSuzie Miller, chair of AmazonPwD and AWS Solutions Architect, has also been nominated for the Positive Role Model (Disability) Award.
