The discussion will focus on the diversity of careers in digital and the potential to create opportunities for all when we put diversity at the core of an organisation.\n\nThe panel will be chaired by Verra Budimlija (Chief Strategy Officer for Wavemaker), with panellists including Rene Perkins (Founder of CityMaaS), Viola de Girolami (Head of Digital Marketing, Warner Bros) and Fiona McDonnell (Managing Director, Amazon Advertising).Jay Rai, CEO and founder of [Mind Worthy](https://www.mind-worthy.com/), will also deliver a workshop session on how to recognise and address ‘limiting beliefs’. He’ll provide quick and easy techniques to become more self-aware and retrain our brains to empower positive thoughts.\n\nWe’re even hosting a ‘sleep workshop’ with Parents@, our employee affinity group for parents.\n\n![Gabby Logan and Nicola Kemp, Managing Editor for BRITE at Creativebrief](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/156fc1f/2147483647/strip/true/crop/640x480+0+0/resize/767x575!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2Fcf%2Fc2%2Ff6045a084fd1b1ebab68f435169d%2Fgabby-logan-1.jpg)\n*Gabby Logan and Nicola Kemp, Managing Editor for BRITE at Creativebrief*\n\nWe’re delighted to be joined by sports broadcaster Gabby Logan MBE for a special ‘fireside chat’ on sport, women and broadcasting.\n\nGabby was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Years Honours for services to sports broadcasting and the promotion of women in sport.\n\nThe event will be livestreamed to our offices around the UK.\n\nOur very own Balvinder Pawar – Fashion Production Manager for Amazon Studios – will also host a session of external speakers on topics around empowerment and optimising ourselves.For Balvinder, her diagnosis with breast cancer in 2015 became an opportunity to build mental resilience, find her true self and make a difference in other people’s lives.When she was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time in 2019, Balvinder made a decision: “The first time, I had allowed myself to become only a patient, but I was having none of that this time around… Having cancer doesn’t mean that life has to stop. I wanted to continue working, and to build a support community inside the company.”\n\n![Amazon employees celebrating International Women's Day ](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/a2ba75b/2147483647/strip/true/crop/960x1280+0+0/resize/767x1023!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2Fe1%2F64%2F39716d934e72ae64bb994356f30a%2Fthumbnail-img-0228.jpg)\n\nSince then, Balvinder has beaten breast cancer for a second time, raised thousands of pounds to help others and leveraged her internal contacts to set up Amazon’s Critical Illness Support Group, an anonymous space where employees can share their experiences and concerns.We can’t wait to find out more about [Balvinder’s inspirational story](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/working-at-amazon/the-strength-behind-a-smile).\n\nEach day Amazon MatchUp, our global peer-to-peer mentoring programme, will host ‘Speed Mentoring’ sessions open to all employees. Amazon MatchUp (previously known as [Amazon Circles](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/working-at-amazon/how-does-peer-to-peer-mentoring-at-amazon-work)) helps to foster connections between employees, building more meaningful relationships.Daily career coaching sessions will cover key topics such as ‘Owning your personal brand’, ‘The magic of living purposefully’ and ‘Taming your inner critic’.On top of that, each day we’ll be hosting lunchtime yoga sessions to help employees relax and unwind.\n\n![Employee at Amazon for International women's day](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/04fa016/2147483647/strip/true/crop/4608x2176+0+0/resize/767x362!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F01%2Fbe%2F37435f5e468db2bf9ecbb3bcf855%2Fimg-20200303-084747.jpg)\n\nAmazon is continually looking for ways to diversify its workforce and foster an inclusive culture. Our culture of inclusion is reinforced by our [14 Leadership Principles](https://www.amazon.jobs/en/principles), which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.\n\nHere are just a few other ways that we work to support gender equality all year round:\n\n- [Amazon Amplify](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/diversity-at-amazon/our-mission-to-help-boost-the-number-of-women-in-stem) is our mission to help boost the number of women in STEM careers and study\n\n- Return to work after a career break with the [AWS Returners Programme](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/working-at-amazon/return-to-work-after-a-career-break-with-the-aws-returners-programme)\n\n- Helping young people build exciting careers in computer science with [Amazon Future Engineer](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/in-the-community/building-careers-in-computer-science-with-amazon-future-engineer)\n\n- Amazon employees are encouraged to [chart their own path](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/working-at-amazon/chart-your-path-how-to-own-your-career-at-amazon), with options such as flexibility, part-time working, job sharing and shared parental leave\n\n- Celebrating success of our female employees, including [TechWomen100 winners Suzie Miller and Ramat Tejani](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/company-news/amazons-women-in-tech-recognised-by-techwomen100-awards)\n\n- Last year we were delighted to be recognised as [Female Tech Employer of the Year by Women in Tech](https://blog.aboutamazon.co.uk/diversity-at-amazon/amazon-recognised-as-female-tech-employer-of-the-year-2019)\n\nWe’ll also be discussing gender equality throughout the week on social media via **#IWD2020 #EachforEqual**","publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"About Amazon","url":"https://www.aboutamazon.com","sameAs":["https://x.com/amazonnews","https://www.linkedin.com/company/amazon","https://www.instagram.com/amazonnews"],"logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://assets.aboutamazon.com/bd/8f/88e7b0314cc2bd05b9de3155a0fe/amazon-news.svg"},"parentOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Amazon","url":"https://www.amazon.com","sameAs":["https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3884","https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_(company)","https://x.com/Amazon"]}}}
